Fish are Food AND Friends – China Day 12

Written and posted March 14th, 2018

Today was our first full day in Hong Kong! While the weather was supposed to be nice, when we got up it was raining. We took a tour of Hong Kong, went on a boat ride and explored in the Aberdeen Fishing Village and Stanley Repulse Bay, took a tram to Victoria’s Peak, ate dim sum, had Indian food in SOHO for dinner, and explored the city. We saw pets in the market and also went on the world’s longest outdoor escalator! Today was a good day even with the rain, except we all really missed our tour guide Sunny. This is a short blog post since I am extremely tired. Tomorrow is our last day in Hong Kong and then we go home!

Anna, you share so much in your photos. Thank you. You begin by telling us you expected sunshine and got rain… And you show us the gray day… but from a heady, breathtaking & unexpected height. And then we see your sunny interpretation through the details of the flowers, bird & fish – color, whimsy and connection. Fun. The turtle photo, gray rock and water, reminds us of the rainy day. He looks right at us. And then we’re on the city street, bright color, texture and shape, echoes of the details you’ve shown us, interpreted in the rainy day. Awesome. 🙂

    Anna,
Your post titles are such fun! I gather you have been eating fish while in China. The fish in your photograph looks like a friend. Is that a correct interpretation of your clever title? Meanwhile, I got quite a chuckle out of your Snapchat in which you compared yourself to the swollen fish after having eaten “U.S” food for the first time in many days.
